Conference "Achievements and Problems of Modern Egyptology" - Moscow, 29th of September – 4th of October, 2009.

Themes of the Conference
* origins and development of Ancient Egyptian state;
* policy and trade relations between Ancient Egypt and Middle Eastern Mediterranean countries;
* landscape archaeology, natural and anthropogenic factors in the development of the Nile valley;
* urban archaeology and peculiarities of Egyptian settlement sites;
* dynamics of development and transformation of Egyptian culture;
* cross-cultural relations in Egypt during the Graeco-Roman period;
* Coptic studies;
* new methods and technologies in archaeological research.

Submission of Abstracts

Language of Conference
The main language of the conference is English. Though the prefered language of presentations is English, speakers may present their papers in French or German as well.

General Guidelines
Speakers are expected to give a 25 minutes lecture (20 minutes followed by 5 minutes of questions). Basic presentation equipment (35mm slide-, overhead- and multimedia projectors) will be available. For special equipment please require the organizing committee.

Though the conference is mainly planned for professional scholars, graduate students may also be admitted to deliver a lecture. However student's paper will be subjected to peer-review, and has to be approved by the organizing committee.

Submission of Abstracts
Please submit the title of your supposed talk, an abstract of your paper (300–500 words) as well as your name and affiliation. It is recommended to download and fill in the application form, and return it to the organizing committee. The deadline for submission of abstracts is May 31, 2009.
