Achievements and Problems of Modern Egyptology - International conference - Moscow - September 29/October 4, 2009.

"This year we celebrate the centenary of acquiring the Egyptian collection of the famous Russian Egyptologist Vladimir S. Golenischev by the State Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. To commemorate this date the Pushkin Museum and the Russian Academy of Sciences are organizing an exhibition of the objects from the Egyptian Museum, Cairo «The Royal Cache. Secrets of Pharaohs». The exhibition will focus on the results of the archaeological survey in the Royal Cache TT 320, which was carried out in 1998–2005 by the joint team of the Muenster University and the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Thus our conference is planed as a counterpart of the exhibition. Its main goal is to share experience between scholars of different countries and to discuss the latest achievements in the field of Egyptology and Egyptian archaeology, study of history, culture, religion and languages of Ancient, Graeco-Roman and Coptic Egypt.

The exhibition and the conference will certainly become a significant event in cultural life of several countries, and we will do our best to held it on the highest level."
